The Sun Hydraulics RPEEFQV (RPEEFQV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for hydraulic systems to protect components from pressure transients. These normally closed, pressure-limiting valves open quickly when the inlet port pressure reaches the set point, directing flow to the tank port to limit further pressure rise. They are characterized by their rapid response time of approximately 2 milliseconds and low pressure rise versus flow. However, this speed comes at the expense of smoothness in operation. The valve can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a capacity of 25 gpm (95 L/min).
