The Sun Hydraulics RPEEKDV (RPEEKDV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens rapidly to tank port 2 when the inlet port 1 pressure reaches the valve setting, effectively throttling flow to limit any further pressure increase. With a low pressure rise versus flow and exceptional speed, this relief cartridge is suitable for cross port relief circuits, although spool leakage should be considered in such applications. It features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and is not recommended for load holding due to potential spool leakage. The RPEEKDV accepts maximum pressure at port 2 and incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding risks from excessive installation torque or machining variations. The valve's cavity is T-10A Series 1 with a capacity of 25 gpm (95 L/min). Factory pressure settings are established at 4 gpm (15 L/min), with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and typical response time of approximately 2 ms. The maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is rated at 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min) at 1000 psi (70 bar). For adjustments, the valve allows up to five clockwise turns to increase the setting, with specific hex sizes provided for the valve body and adjustment screw. Installation torque ranges between 30 - 35 lbf ft (41 - 47 Nm), while locknut torque ranges between 80 - 90 lbf in (9 -10 Nm).
