The Sun Hydraulics RPEEQHV (RPEEQHV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens rapidly when the inlet port pressure reaches the valve setting, diverting flow to the tank port to limit pressure rise. It features low pressure rise versus flow and provides rapid response times, typically around 2 milliseconds. The valve is suitable for cross-port relief circuits but not for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. It incorporates a 150-micron stainless steel screen protecting the main stage orifice and can accept maximum pressure at port 2. The back pressure on tank port 2 adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. The RPEEQHV model uses Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal part binding risks due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. It offers adjustability through W and Y controls, with or without a special setting, covering its full range if no specific setting is defined.
