The Sun Hydraulics RPEEQNN (RPEEQNN) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens rapidly at the expense of smooth operation. Upon reaching the valve setting at inlet port 1, it begins to open towards tank port 2, throttling flow to limit pressure rise with minimal pressure increase versus flow. It is engineered for maximum pressure acceptance at port 2 and is suitable for cross-port relief circuits, though spool leakage should be considered in such applications. The main stage orifice is protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen; however, it is not recommended for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. The RPEEQNN features a back-pressure additive effect on tank port 2 relative to the valve setting in a 1:1 ratio and offers physical and functional interchangeability with other two-port relief cartridges within its frame size. The W and Y controls allow for full-range adjustability unless specified otherwise with a special setting that denotes the maximum valve setting. Designed with Sun's floating style construction, it minimizes potential binding of internal parts due to installation torque or machining variations.
