The Sun Hydraulics RPEETEV (RPEETEV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens quickly at the expense of smoothness, effectively throttling flow to limit pressure rise when the inlet port reaches the valve setting. With a low pressure rise versus flow and rapid response time of approximately 2 milliseconds, it is highly efficient in managing hydraulic pressures. The valve is suitable for use in cross port relief circuits but should be used with caution due to potential spool leakage. It accepts maximum pressure at port 2 and features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. However, it is not recommended for load holding applications due to its design characteristics. The RPEETEV model incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize binding risks from excessive installation torque or cavity machining variations. It offers an adjustable range using W or Y controls unless a special setting is specified, which then represents the valve's maximum setting.
