The Sun Hydraulics RPGDAIN (RPGDAIN) is an air-controlled, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation. This valve utilizes compressed air over a diaphragm instead of an adjustable spring to set the pressure, providing a normally closed pressure regulating function. The air signal is introduced through a port located in the hex end of the cartridge. When the inlet port 1 reaches the designated pressure setting, the valve opens to tank port 2, effectively throttling flow to maintain consistent pressure levels. Notable for its accuracy and low pressure rise versus flow, this valve operates smoothly and quietly with moderate speed. The RPGDAIN is capable of handling maximum pressures up to 2000 psi (140 bar) and can accept maximum air pressures up to 150 psi (10.5 bar). It is suitable for use in cross-port relief circuits and features a floating style construction that minimizes internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or cavity machining variations. This design ensures reliability and ease of maintenance. With a capacity of 50 gpm (200 L/min) and a pilot ratio of 20:1, this cartridge provides efficient performance with minimal leakage\u2014maximum valve leakage at 110 SUS (24 cSt) is just 3 in\u00b3/min (50 cc/min) at 1000 psi (70 bar). The response time is typically around 10 ms, offering quick adjustments as needed. The valve's hex size measures at 1-1/8 inches (28.6 mm), with an installation torque range between 45-50 lbf ft (61-68 Nm). Weighing approximately .50 lb (.25 kg), it also supports Viton seal kits for enhanced durability under various operating conditions.

Air-controlled, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges use compressed air over a diaphragm instead of an adjustable spring to control pressure setting. The air signal is supplied through a port in the hex-end of the cartridge. They are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.
- Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits.
- Maximum air pressure should not exceed 150 psi (10 bar).
- All 2-port relief cartridges (except pilot reliefs) are physically and functionally interchangeable (same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size).
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
