The Sun Hydraulics RPGECKV (RPGECKV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve begins to open to tank port 2 when the inlet port 1 pressure reaches the valve setting, throttling flow to limit the pressure rise. Known for its quick responsiveness with a typical response time of 2 ms, it offers low-pressure rise versus flow characteristics. The RPGECKV is built for interchangeability with other 2-port relief cartridges, sharing the same flow path and cavity size within a given frame size. It can handle maximum pressure at port 2 and is suitable for cross-port relief circuits, though spool leakage should be considered in such applications. The main stage orifice is shielded by a robust 150-micron stainless steel screen, ensuring durability and reliability. However, it is not recommended for load holding applications due to potential spool leakage. Back pressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
