The Sun Hydraulics RPGECSN (Material Number: RPGECSN) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens quickly to manage pressure spikes by throttling flow to the tank port when the inlet pressure reaches the set threshold. Its design ensures low pressure rise versus flow and rapid response time, typically around 2 milliseconds. The RPGECSN is physically and functionally interchangeable with other 2-port relief cartridges of the same frame size, sharing both flow path and cavity specifications. This model is suitable for use in cross-port relief circuits and can handle maximum pressure at port 2; however, users should consider spool leakage when implementing it in such applications. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, enhancing its durability. It is not recommended for load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage.
