The Sun Hydraulics RPGEJEN (RPGEJEN) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens swiftly upon reaching the inlet port's pressure setting, directing flow to the tank port to control pressure rise. Known for its rapid response time of approximately 2 milliseconds and low-pressure rise versus flow characteristics, it is highly effective in applications where quick opening and closing are critical. The valve's design incorporates a 150-micron stainless steel screen to safeguard the main stage orifice and features Sun's floating style construction to prevent internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. The RPGEJEN model is suitable for cross-port relief circuits, accepting maximum pressure at port 2. However, users should consider spool leakage in such applications. It is not recommended for load-holding applications due to this leakage characteristic.
