The Sun Hydraulics RPGEKJV (RPGEKJV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens swiftly to the tank port 2 when the inlet port 1 pressure reaches the valve setting, effectively throttling flow to limit pressure rise. Known for its low-pressure rise versus flow and rapid response time of approximately 2 milliseconds, this cartridge is suitable for cross port relief circuits but not recommended for load holding applications due to spool leakage. It features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and incorporates Sun's floating style construction to prevent internal parts from binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. The RPGEKJV accepts maximum pressure at port 2 and has a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). Its capacity is rated at 50 gpm (200 L/min) with factory pressure settings established at 4 gpm (15 L/min). The valve's hex size measures 1-1/8 inches (28.6 mm), with an installation torque range of 45 - 50 lbf ft (61 - 68 Nm).
