The Sun Hydraulics RPGELBN (Material Number: RPGELBN) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge valve designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This valve is normally closed and functions as a pressure-limiting device that opens when the inlet port pressure reaches a pre-set level, diverting flow to the tank port to control pressure rise. With a capability of handling up to 50 gpm (200 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), it features quick response times typically around 2 ms. Fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges are normally closed, pressure-limiting valves used to protect hydraulics components from pressure transients. Fast opening and closing is gained at the expense of smoothness. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to limit the pressure rise. These valves have low pressure rise vs. flow and are very fast.
