The Sun Hydraulics RPGEMGN (Material Number: RPGEMGN) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed valve limits pressure rise by opening to the tank port when inlet pressure reaches the valve setting. It features rapid opening and closing, though this comes at the expense of smoothness. The valve is characterized by a low pressure rise versus flow and can handle maximum pressures at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits. However, it is not ideal for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. This cartridge incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize binding from installation torque or machining variations.
