The Sun Hydraulics RPGEMKV (RPGEMKV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. These normally closed, pressure-limiting valves are engineered to open quickly when the inlet port 1 pressure reaches the valve setting, directing flow to tank port 2 to limit pressure rise. They feature low pressure rise versus flow and rapid response times, typically around 2 milliseconds. The RPGEMKV is physically and functionally interchangeable with other 2-port relief cartridges of the same frame size, making it versatile for various applications. It can handle maximum pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a capacity of 50 gpm (200 L/min). However, it is not suitable for load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage. The cartridge incorporates a Sun floating style construction that minimizes internal parts binding caused by excessive installation torque or machining variations.
