The Sun Hydraulics RPGEONV (Material Number: RPGEONV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. These normally closed valves limit pressure by opening to a tank port when inlet pressure reaches the valve setting. The RPGEONV offers rapid response with low pressure rise vs. flow, making it particularly suitable for applications requiring quick pressure relief. This model can handle a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a flow capacity of 50 gpm (200 L/min). It features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen but is not recommended for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. The valve is interchangeable with other 2-port relief cartridges of the same frame size and flow path, allowing for versatile use in various systems. It can accept maximum pressure at port 2 and is suitable for cross-port relief circuits, though spool leakage should be considered in such applications.
