The Sun Hydraulics RPGETJV (Material Number: RPGETJV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to safeguard hydraulic components against pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens quickly to protect systems by throttling flow when the inlet pressure surpasses the valve setting, directing excess pressure to the tank port. The RPGETJV is engineered for rapid response with a typical response time of 2 milliseconds and features low-pressure rise versus flow characteristics. It is suitable for use in cross-port relief circuits, capable of handling maximum pressure at port 2. However, it is not recommended for load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage. The valve incorporates a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and uses Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding risks. The valve's cavity is T-3A Series 2 with a capacity of 50 gpm (200 L/min) and can operate at pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The factory pressure settings are established at 4 gpm (15 L/min), with adjustment facilitated by an internal hex screw requiring up to 55 clockwise turns to increase the setting.
