The Sun Hydraulics RPIEKCN (RPIEKCN) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. It operates as a normally closed, pressure-limiting valve that opens rapidly when the inlet port pressure reaches the set valve threshold, directing flow to the tank port to control pressure rise. This model is suitable for use in cross-port relief circuits, accepting maximum pressure at port 2; however, spool leakage should be considered in these applications. The valve features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and incorporates Sun's floating style construction to prevent internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. Notably, it is not recommended for load holding applications due to potential spool leakage.
