The Sun Hydraulics RPIELWV (RPIELWV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens rapidly when the inlet port 1 reaches the set pressure, diverting flow to tank port 2 to limit pressure rise. With its low-pressure rise versus flow and quick response time of approximately 2 milliseconds, this valve is ideal for applications requiring fast operation. It features a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and a capacity of 100 gpm (380 L/min). The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, enhancing durability and performance. This relief cartridge is physically and functionally interchangeable with other two-port relief cartridges within the same frame size, offering versatility in various hydraulic systems. It can handle maximum pressure at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits; however, spool leakage should be considered in such applications. The valve\u2019s backpressure at tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. The Sun floating style construction minimizes internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations.
