The Sun Hydraulics RPIEMBV (RPIEMBV) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This valve is normally closed and functions as a pressure-limiting device by opening to tank port 2 when the inlet port 1 reaches the valve setting, thereby throttling flow to limit pressure rise. Known for its rapid response, this valve offers low pressure rise versus flow but prioritizes speed over smoothness. It features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and incorporates Sun's floating style construction to mitigate internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations.
