The Sun Hydraulics RPKECDN (RPKECDN) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve opens rapidly to the tank port when the inlet port reaches the preset pressure, effectively throttling flow to limit pressure rise. It features low pressure rise versus flow and provides swift response times, typically around 2 milliseconds. The RPKECDN is capable of handling a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a capacity of 200 gpm (760 L/min). This relief cartridge is physically and functionally interchangeable with other two-port relief cartridges of the same frame size, making it versatile for various applications. It can accept maximum pressure at port 2 and is suitable for use in cross-port relief circuits; however, users should consider spool leakage in such setups.
