The Sun Hydraulics RPKECQN (Material Number: RPKECQN) is a fast-acting, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to protect hydraulic components from pressure transients. This normally closed, pressure-limiting valve operates by opening to tank port 2 when the inlet port 1 reaches the valve setting, thereby throttling flow to limit pressure rise. The design features low pressure rise versus flow and rapid response times, typically around 2 milliseconds. It is capable of handling a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has a capacity of up to 200 gpm (760 L/min). Notably, this relief cartridge is interchangeable with other two-port relief cartridges of the same frame size and flow path. It accepts maximum pressure at port 2 and can be used in cross-port relief circuits with consideration for spool leakage. However, it is not suitable for load-holding applications due to potential leakage.
