The Sun Hydraulics RPKTCCV (RPKTCCV) is a pilot-operated, anti-shock relief cartridge designed to limit maximum system pressure and control the rate of pressure rise. This valve is engineered to open and ramp closed at a constant speed, independent of settings and flows, making it ideal for applications where precise pressure management is crucial. The adjust screw allows users to set both the maximum relief and minimum threshold settings, with adjustments only possible when system pressure is removed. This valve accepts maximum pressure at port 2 and is suitable for cross-port relief circuits but not for load-holding applications. When inlet port 1 pressure exceeds the threshold setting, the valve opens to tank port 2, with the pilot section moving forward steadily to increase the setting by compressing the pilot spring until a mechanical stop is reached. Its design offers protection for pumps and motors from pressure transients caused by sudden load changes, particularly beneficial for variable displacement pumps. Additionally, it helps reduce jerks in hydrostatic drives during sudden reversals and can emulate ramp characteristics typical of proportional valves when used with a switching device. Pilot-operated, anti shock relief cartridges limit maximum system pressure and also limit the rate of pressure rise.
