The Sun Hydraulics RQCBCBN (RQCBCBN) is a kickdown relief cartridge designed to function similarly to a circuit breaker in an electrical system. This valve kicks completely open and remains open when the pressure at inlet port 1 exceeds the set valve pressure, allowing unrestricted flow from port 1 to tank port 2. It stays open as long as the pressure at port 1 is higher than at port 2, and resets when flow ceases and the pressure at port 2 equals or exceeds that at port 1. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, ensuring durability and reliability. The valve is not suitable for load holding applications; it's intended for use on the actuator side of systems since flow must cease for resetting. If used on the pump side, the pump flow must be halted to reset the valve. Back pressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. This cartridge features Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding due to excessive torque or machining variations. The RQCBCBN model fits into a T-162A cavity and offers a capacity of up to 12 gpm (45 L/min), with factory pressure settings established at kickdown point maximums of up to 5000 psi (350 bar). It has a typical response time of approximately 25 ms and maximum leakage of about 2 in\u00b3/min at specific conditions. Adjustment requires up to five clockwise turns, with specified torque values for installation and locknut adjustments provided for precision setup.
