The Sun Hydraulics RQCBCBV (RQCBCBV) is a kickdown relief cartridge designed to act similarly to a circuit breaker in hydraulic systems. This valve kicks completely open and remains open when the pressure at inlet port 1 exceeds the set threshold, creating an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to tank port 2. The valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 is greater than at port 2. To reset the valve, flow from port 1 to port 2 must stop, and pressure at port 2 must equal or exceed that at port 1. This cartridge is intended for use on the actuator side of hydraulic systems since flow cessation is necessary for resetting. If used on the pump side, pump flow must be stopped for a reset. It features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. The RQCBCBV has a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and can handle a capacity of up to 12 gpm (45 L/min). The typical response time is approximately 25 ms, with maximum valve leakage at specified conditions being about 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min). It's important to note that back pressure on tank port 2 adds directly to the valve setting in a one-to-one ratio, and this cartridge is not suitable for load-holding applications.
