The Sun Hydraulics RQCBCCN (RQCBCCN) is a kickdown relief cartridge designed to function similarly to a circuit breaker in an electrical system. This valve is engineered to kick completely open and remain open when the pressure at the inlet port 1 surpasses the valve setting, thereby creating an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to tank port 2. The valve stays open as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds that at port 2, and it resets only when flow from port 1 to port 2 ceases and the pressure at port 2 equals or exceeds that at port 1. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a durable 150-micron stainless steel screen, though this product is not suitable for load-holding applications. It is intended for use on the actuator side of systems since flow must cease for resetting; if used on the pump side, pump flow must be halted for reset. Back pressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a one-to-one ratio. All two-port relief cartridges except pilot reliefs are interchangeable in terms of flow path and cavity size for a given frame size. The Sun floating style construction minimizes internal part binding due to excessive installation torque or machining variations. With a capacity of up to 12 gpm (45 L/min) and maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), this cartridge features a response time typically around 25 ms and maximum leakage of approximately 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min) at specified conditions. Adjustments can be made with up to five clockwise turns, with specific torque requirements provided for installation and locknut adjustments.
