The Sun Hydraulics RQCBKNV (RQCBKNV) is a kickdown relief cartridge designed to function similarly to a circuit breaker in hydraulic systems. This valve automatically opens and remains open when the pressure at the inlet port 1 exceeds the set threshold, allowing unrestricted flow to tank port 2. It stays open as long as the inlet pressure surpasses that of the tank port. Resetting requires cessation of flow from port 1 to port 2, with equal or greater pressure at port 2 compared to port 1. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, ensuring durability and reliability. Notably, this valve is unsuitable for load-holding applications and is intended for actuator-side use, as flow must cease for resetting; if used on the pump side, pump flow must be halted for reset. Back pressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. The RQCBKNV features Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal part binding due to excessive torque or machining variations during installation.
