The Sun Hydraulics RQCBLNV (RQCBLNV) is a kickdown relief cartridge designed to function similarly to a circuit breaker in hydraulic systems. This valve activates by opening completely and maintaining an open state when the inlet port 1 pressure surpasses the preset threshold, allowing unrestricted flow from port 1 to tank port 2. It remains open until the pressure at port 1 drops below that at port 2. To reset the valve, flow from port 1 to port 2 must cease, and pressure at port 2 must meet or exceed that of port 1. The main stage orifice is shielded by a durable 150-micron stainless steel screen, though it is not suitable for load-holding applications. It is primarily intended for use on the actuator side of systems since flow through the valve must stop for resetting; if used on the pump side, pump flow needs to be halted for reset. Kick-down relief cartridges act similar to a circuit breaker in an electrical system. The valves will kick completely open and remain open once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) exceeds the valve settting, creating an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to tank (port 2). The valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds the pressure at port 2. To reset the valve, flow from port 1 to port 2 must cease and pressure at port 2 must be equal to or greater than the pressure at port 1.
