The Sun Hydraulics RQEBKNV (Material Number: RQEBKNV) is a kickdown relief cartridge designed to function similarly to a circuit breaker in hydraulic systems. This valve is engineered to open completely and remain open once the pressure at the inlet port 1 surpasses its set threshold, allowing unrestricted flow from port 1 to tank port 2. The valve remains in this open state as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds that at port 2. To reset the valve, flow between these ports must stop, and the pressure at port 2 should equal or exceed that at port 1. Key features include a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and corrosion-resistant construction options for harsh environments, identified by model code suffixes AP or LH. The valve is not suitable for load-holding applications and is best used on the actuator side of systems, as flow must cease for resetting. If placed on the pump side, pump flow must be halted for reset. The RQEBKNV model incorporates Sun\u2019s floating style construction to prevent internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. It fits a T-10A cavity with a capacity of up to 25 gpm (95 L/min) and operates under pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). The typical response time is around 25 ms, with minimal leakage rates. Kick-down relief cartridges act similar to a circuit breaker in an electrical system. The valves will kick completely open and remain open once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) exceeds the valve settting, creating an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to tank (port 2). The valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds the pressure at port 2. To reset the valve, flow from port 1 to port 2 must cease and pressure at port 2 must be equal to or greater than the pressure at port 1.
