The Sun Hydraulics RQIBCAV (RQIBCAV) is a kickdown relief cartridge designed to function similarly to a circuit breaker in an electrical system. This valve kicks completely open and remains open once the pressure at inlet port 1 surpasses the set threshold, providing an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to tank port 2. The valve stays open as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds that at port 2. To reset, the flow from port 1 to port 2 must stop, and the pressure at port 2 should be equal to or greater than that at port 1. All two-port relief cartridges, except pilot reliefs, are interchangeable in terms of flow path and cavity for a given frame size. This cartridge features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and is not suitable for load-holding applications. It is intended for use on the actuator side of hydraulic systems, as flow through the valve must cease for resetting; if used on the pump side, pump flow must be stopped for resetting. The back pressure on tank port 2 adds directly to the valve setting at a ratio of 1:1. The corrosion-resistant design incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding risks due to excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. It fits into Cavity T-16A with Series 3 capacity up to 100 gpm (380 L/min) and operates at a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar).
