The Sun Hydraulics RQIBCCN (Material Number: RQIBCCN) is a kickdown relief cartridge designed to function similarly to a circuit breaker in hydraulic systems. When the pressure at inlet port 1 exceeds the valve setting, the valve opens completely, creating an unrestricted flow path from port 1 to tank port 2. It remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 is higher than at port 2. To reset, flow must stop, and pressure at port 2 must equal or exceed that at port 1. This cartridge is physically and functionally interchangeable with other two-port relief cartridges of the same frame size but is not suitable for load holding applications. It is intended for use on the actuator side of a system since flow must cease for resetting; if used on the pump side, pump flow must be shut off for resetting. The main stage orifice features a protective 150-micron stainless steel screen, and back pressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. Corrosion-resistant options are available with external stainless steel or zinc-nickel plated components.
