The Sun Hydraulics RQIBLEN (Material Number: RQIBLEN) is a kickdown relief cartridge designed to function similarly to a circuit breaker in an electrical system. This valve opens completely and remains open when the inlet port 1 pressure exceeds the valve setting, allowing unrestricted flow from port 1 to tank port 2. The valve stays open as long as the pressure at port 1 surpasses that at port 2, and it resets only when flow from port 1 to port 2 stops and the pressure at port 2 equals or exceeds that at port 1. All two-port relief cartridges, except pilot reliefs, are interchangeable in terms of flow path and cavity for a given frame size, with a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. The RQIBLEN is not suitable for load holding applications and should be used on the actuator side of systems since flow must cease for reset. If implemented on the pump side, pump flow must be halted for reset. The back pressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. Corrosion-resistant versions are available with external stainless steel or zinc-nickel plated components. The cartridge features Sun's floating style construction to prevent internal part binding due to excessive torque or machining variations. With a capacity of up to 100 gpm (380 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), this model offers typical response times of around 25 ms and minimal leakage under specified conditions.
