The Sun Hydraulics RQKBLEV (Material Number: RQKBLEV) is a kickdown relief cartridge designed to function similarly to a circuit breaker in an electrical system. This valve opens completely and remains open when the pressure at inlet port 1 surpasses the set threshold, allowing unrestricted flow from port 1 to tank port 2. The valve remains open as long as the pressure at port 1 exceeds that at port 2. To reset, flow from port 1 to port 2 must stop, and the pressure at port 2 must equal or exceed that at port 1. Notably, all two-port relief cartridges, except pilot reliefs, are interchangeable in terms of flow path and cavity for a given frame size. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. This cartridge is not suitable for load-holding applications and is intended for use on the actuator side of systems since flow cessation through the valve is necessary for resetting. If applied on the pump side, pump flow must be halted for reset. Back pressure on tank port 2 adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. The cartridge incorporates Sun's floating style construction to reduce internal part binding risks due to excessive installation torque or cavity machining variations. The RQKBLEV features a capacity of up to 200 gpm (760 L/min) with a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). Typical response time is approximately 25 ms, with maximum valve leakage at specified conditions being around 5 in\u00b3/min (80 cc/min). The adjustment requires up to five clockwise turns to increase settings, with specific torque requirements for installation and adjustment components provided.
