The Sun Hydraulics RSBCKAV (RSBCKAV) is a pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at inlet port 1 exceeds the valve setting. This valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3, remaining insensitive to back pressure at port 2 up to the valve setting. It can regulate pressure in place of two-port relief valves when there is pressure in the return line. The RSBCKAV features interchangeable three-port sequence cartridges with a consistent flow path and cavity for its size frame. The pilot flow increases as the inlet pressure rises above the valve setting, while the main stage orifice is protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. The minimum setting is 75 psi (5 bar), and port 3's pressure is additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio, not exceeding 5000 psi (350 bar). It is not suitable for load holding applications due to spool leakage. Cartridges with EPDM seals are intended for phosphate ester fluid systems and are vulnerable to petroleum-based fluids.
