The Sun Hydraulics RSBCKCV (Material Number: RSBCKCV) is a pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valve designed to manage the flow to a secondary circuit once the inlet port pressure surpasses the valve setting. It regulates pressure at port 1 in relation to the drain port 3, remaining unaffected by back pressure at port 2 up to the valve setting. This model can substitute for 2-port relief valves when there is pressure in the return line. Notably, all three-port sequence cartridges share physical and functional interchangeability within a given frame size, allowing for consistent flow paths and cavity compatibility. As inlet pressure at port 1 increases relative to drain pressure at port 3, pilot flow continues to rise above the valve setting. The main stage orifice benefits from a protective 150-micron stainless steel screen. This valve features a minimum setting of 75 psi (5 bar) across all spring ranges, with pressures at port 3 adding directly to the valve setting in a 1:1 ratio without exceeding 5000 psi (350 bar). It is not recommended for load holding applications due to spool leakage concerns. For systems using phosphate ester fluids, cartridges with EPDM seals are suitable; however, exposure to petroleum-based substances will damage these seals. The product incorporates Sun's floating style construction to avoid binding issues caused by excessive installation torque or machining variations. The RSBCKCV operates within a Cavity T-163A and Series 0 capacity of up to 7.5 gpm (30 L/min), with factory settings established at a flow rate of 4 gpm (15 L/min). It supports a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and exhibits typical response times around 10 ms. Maximum valve leakage stands at approximately 2 in\u00b3/min (30 cc/min) under specific conditions.

Pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3). These valves are insensitive to back pressure at port 2 (sequence), up to the valve setting. They may be used to regulate pressure in place of 2-port relief valves if there is pressure in the return line.
