The Sun Hydraulics RSBCLAN (RSBCLAN) is a pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valve designed to regulate flow in secondary circuits once the pressure at the inlet port exceeds a predetermined setting. This valve is specifically engineered to control the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3, while remaining unaffected by back pressure at port 2 up to its set point. It can be used as an alternative to two-port relief valves when there is pressure in the return line. The RSBCLAN model features interchangeable three-port sequence cartridges, ensuring compatibility in terms of flow path and cavity size for a given frame. The valve's main stage orifice is protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, and it has a minimum setting of 75 psi (5 bar) across all spring ranges. The maximum operating pressure for this model is 5000 psi (350 bar), with a response time typically around 10 milliseconds. It should be noted that this valve is not suitable for load holding applications due to spool leakage. Pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3). These valves are insensitive to back pressure at port 2 (sequence), up to the valve setting. They may be used to regulate pressure in place of 2-port relief valves if there is pressure in the return line.
