The Sun Hydraulics RSDSLAN (RSDSLAN) is a pilot-operated, balanced poppet sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at inlet port 1 exceeds the valve setting. It effectively controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3, remaining unaffected by back pressure at port 2 up to the valve setting. This makes it suitable for use in place of two-port relief valves when there is pressure in the return line. The RSDSLAN model features a robust design that allows all three-port sequence cartridges to be physically and functionally interchangeable, providing flexibility in various applications. It incorporates a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and can handle pressures at port 3 directly additive to the valve setting up to a maximum of 5000 psi (350 bar). Ideal for load-holding applications, this valve is immune to cavitation-related issues such as noise and manifold erosion due to its internal modulating mechanism. It also supports maximum pressure at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits. The Sun floating style construction minimizes internal part binding risks due to excessive torque or machining variations. With a capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and factory pressure settings established at 4 gpm (15 L/min), it offers quick response times typically around 10 ms and minimal leakage rates upon reseat. The valve's installation requires specific torque settings, including a valve hex size of .78 in (22.2 mm) and locknut hex size of .916 in (15 mm).
