The Sun Hydraulics RSFCWDV (RSFCWDV) is a pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at inlet port 1 exceeds the valve setting. This valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3 and is insensitive to back pressure at port 2 up to the valve setting. It can replace two-port relief valves when there is pressure in the return line. All three-port sequence cartridges are interchangeable in terms of flow path and cavity for a given frame size. The pilot flow increases as pressure at port 1 rises above the valve setting relative to port 3. The main stage orifice is protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, and pressure at port 3 adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio, not exceeding 5000 psi (350 bar). This model is not suitable for load holding applications due to spool leakage. The RSFCWDV features W and Y control options that can be specified with or without special settings, adjustable throughout their full range unless a maximum setting is specified. Cartridges with EPDM seals are designed for phosphate ester fluids, as petroleum-based fluids will damage these seals. The Sun floating style construction minimizes internal parts binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations. This model fits a T-2A cavity, has a capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min), and operates under a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It has a control pilot flow of 10-15 in\u00b3/min (0.16-0.25 L/min) with typical response times around 10 ms and maximum leakage of 3 in\u00b3/min at 1000 psi (50 cc/min at 70 bar). It requires specific installation torque values for optimal performance: valve hex size is 1-1/8 inches (28.6 mm) with installation torque between 45-50 lbf ft (61-68 Nm). The adjustment screw has an internal hex size of 5/32 inches (4 mm), while the locknut hex size is 9/16 inches (15 mm), with locknut torque ranging from 80-90 lbf in (9-10 Nm). The model weight is approximately .50 lb (.25 kg), and it uses Viton seal kits identified as part number: 990202006.

Pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valves will supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet (port 1) has exceeded the valve setting. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3). These valves are insensitive to back pressure at port 2 (sequence), up to the valve setting. They may be used to regulate pressure in place of 2-port relief valves if there is pressure in the return line.
- All 3 port sequence cartridges are physically and functionally interchangeable (i.e. same flow path, same cavity for a given frame size).
- Pilot flow continues to increase as the pressure at port 1 (inlet), relative to the pressure at port 3 (drain), rises above the valve setting.
- The main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
- Pressure at port 3 is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio and should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar).
- Not suitable for use in load holding applications due to spool leakage.
- W and Y controls (where applicable) can be specified with or without a special setting. When no special setting is specified, the valve is adjustable throughout its full range using the W or Y control. When a special setting is specified, this setting represents the maximum setting of the valve.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
