The Sun Hydraulics RSHCKEN (RSHCKEN) is a pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at inlet port 1 surpasses the valve setting. This valve manages the pressure at port 1 in relation to the drain port 3, remaining unaffected by back pressure at port 2 up to the valve setting. It can be utilized as a substitute for 2-port relief valves when there is pressure in the return line. All three-port sequence cartridges are interchangeable, featuring identical flow paths and cavity sizes for a given frame size. The valve's pilot flow increases as inlet pressure relative to drain pressure exceeds the valve setting, and it includes a 150-micron stainless steel screen protecting the main stage orifice. Port 3 pressure adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio, with an upper limit of 5000 psi (350 bar). However, this model is not suitable for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. The pressure setting of a sequence valve controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the pressure at the drain (port 3).
