The Sun Hydraulics RSHCQEN (RSHCQEN) is a pilot-operated, balanced piston sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the inlet port 1 pressure exceeds the valve setting. This valve effectively controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3 and is insensitive to back pressure at port 2 up to the valve setting. It can be used as a pressure regulator in place of 2-port relief valves when there is pressure in the return line. All three-port sequence cartridges are interchangeable, providing consistent flow paths and cavity compatibility for a given frame size. The pilot flow increases as the pressure at port 1 rises above the valve setting relative to port 3, with a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. The maximum allowable pressure at port 3 should not exceed 5000 psi (350 bar), and this pressure directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. This model is not suitable for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. The RSHCQEN features Sun's floating style construction, minimizing internal binding risks due to installation torque or machining variations.
