The Sun Hydraulics RSHSKBN (RSHSKBN) is a pilot-operated, balanced poppet sequence valve designed to supply a secondary circuit with flow once the pressure at the inlet port 1 exceeds the valve setting. This valve effectively controls the pressure at port 1 relative to the drain port 3, remaining insensitive to back pressure at port 2 up to the valve setting. It can regulate pressure in place of two-port relief valves when there's pressure in the return line. All three-port sequence cartridges are interchangeable, featuring identical flow paths and cavities for a given frame size. The valve's pilot flow increases as pressure at port 1 rises above the setting relative to port 3. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, and pressure at port 3 adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio without exceeding 5000 psi (350 bar). This makes it suitable for load-holding applications and cross-port relief circuits. The cartridge's internal modulation renders it immune to cavitation issues like noise and manifold erosion. The Sun floating style construction reduces risks of internal part binding from excessive torque or machining variations. With a cavity size of T-17A and Series 3 capacity of up to 60 gpm (240 L/min), it operates under maximum pressures of up to 5000 psi (350 bar) with typical response times around 10 ms. Maximum leakage is limited to approximately ten drops per minute upon reseat, and adjustments can be made with five clockwise turns for increased settings.
