The Sun Hydraulics RVBACCV (RVBACCV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This normally closed valve begins to open when the inlet port pressure reaches a specified setting, diverting flow to the tank port to maintain pressure levels. It features a vent port that allows for remote control by other pilot or two-way valves, providing flexibility in various applications. The RVBACCV is known for its accuracy, low pressure rise versus flow, smooth and quiet operation, and moderate speed. It can handle maximum pressure at port 2 and is suitable for cross-port relief circuits; however, it is not recommended for load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage. The valve's design includes protection against contamination and incorporates Sun's floating style construction to prevent internal part binding from installation torque or machining variations. With a capacity of 7.5 gpm (30 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), this relief valve offers reliable performance with minimal leakage. Adjustments can be made using the internal hex screw, with specific torque requirements provided for installation and locknut adjustments. The RVBACCV weighs .30 lb (.15 kg) and includes a Viton seal kit option (990163006) for enhanced durability in demanding environments.

Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.

  • A remote pilot relief on port 3 (vent) will control the valve below its own setting.
  • Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits. If used in cross port relief circuits, consider spool leakage.
  • Minimum setting is 75 psi (5 bar) for all spring ranges.
  • Not suitable for use in load holding applications due to spool leakage.
  • Back pressure on the tank port (port 2) is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
  • The main stage orifice is protected against contamination.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
