The Sun Hydraulics RVCACCV (RVCACCV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation. This valve is normally closed and activates when the inlet port 1 pressure reaches the preset value, subsequently opening to tank port 2 to throttle flow and maintain desired pressure levels. It features a vent port 3 for remote control via other pilot or two-way valves, ensuring accuracy with minimal pressure rise versus flow. The valve's design allows for smooth, quiet operation and moderate response speed. It is suitable for cross-port relief circuits but should not be used in load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, and the valve can handle maximum pressure at port 2. Notably, back pressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. Cartridges fitted with EPDM seals are intended for systems using phosphate ester fluids; exposure to petroleum-based fluids will damage these seals. The floating style construction minimizes binding risks from excessive installation torque or cavity/cartridge machining variations. This Series 1 cartridge has a capacity of up to 15 gpm (60 L/min) and operates under a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar). It exhibits typical response times of around 10 ms and maximum leakage of 2 in\u00b3/min at pressures up to 1000 psi (30 cc/min at 70 bar). Adjustments can be made with up to five clockwise turns, utilizing an internal hex size of 5/32 inches (4 mm). The model weighs approximately .40 lb (.20 kg), with installation torque ranging from 30-35 lbf ft (41-47 Nm).

Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.
- A remote pilot relief on port 3 (vent) will control the valve below its own setting.
- Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits. If used in cross port relief circuits, consider spool leakage.
- Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
- Not suitable for use in load holding applications due to spool leakage.
- Back pressure on the tank port (port 2) is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
