The Sun Hydraulics RVCANDV (Material Number: RVCANDV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This cartridge valve remains normally closed until the inlet port pressure reaches the predetermined setting, at which point it opens to the tank port to regulate flow and maintain the desired pressure level. The RVCANDV features a vent port that allows for remote control via other pilot or two-way valves, offering flexibility in system design. Known for its accuracy and smooth operation, this valve provides low pressure rise versus flow and operates quietly with moderate speed. The RVCANDV can handle maximum pressure at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits; however, users should consider spool leakage when used in such applications. It is not recommended for load-holding applications due to potential leakage issues. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, ensuring durability and reliability in demanding environments. Additionally, back pressure on the tank port is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. This model incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding due to installation torque or machining variations. It supports systems using phosphate ester fluids when configured with EPDM seals but should avoid petroleum-based fluids that could cause seal damage. With a capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), the RVCANDV offers reliable performance with response times typically around 10 ms. The valve's design includes various adjustment features for ease of use and maintenance, making it an adaptable component in hydraulic systems requiring precise pressure control.

Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.
- A remote pilot relief on port 3 (vent) will control the valve below its own setting.
- Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits. If used in cross port relief circuits, consider spool leakage.
- Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
- Not suitable for use in load holding applications due to spool leakage.
- Back pressure on the tank port (port 2) is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
