The Sun Hydraulics RVCDCEV (RVCDCEV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation. This normally closed valve begins to open when the inlet port 1 reaches the preset pressure, allowing flow to the tank port 2 and regulating system pressure. It features a vent port 3 for remote control and a drain port 4 that ensures insensitivity to back pressure. Known for its accuracy and smooth operation, it exhibits low pressure rise versus flow characteristics and moderate response speed. The valve can handle maximum pressures at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits, though spool leakage should be considered in such applications. Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges with external drain are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves and a drain (port 4) that makes them insensitive to back pressure. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.

  • A remote pilot relief on port 3 (vent) will control the valve below its own setting.
