The Sun Hydraulics RVCDKAV (RVCDKAV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to provide precise pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This normally closed valve opens to the tank port when the inlet pressure reaches the set level, effectively throttling flow to maintain desired pressure levels. It features a vent port that allows for remote control and an external drain port that ensures insensitivity to back pressure. The valve is noted for its accuracy, smooth operation, moderate speed, and low noise levels. It is particularly suited for applications requiring maximum pressure acceptance at the tank port and is useful in cross-port relief circuits, although spool leakage should be taken into account in such scenarios. The RVCDKAV model incorporates a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and is not recommended for load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage. Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges with external drain are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves and a drain (port 4) that makes them insensitive to back pressure. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.

  • Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits. If used in cross port relief circuits, consider spool leakage.
