The Sun Hydraulics RVCSCCV (RVCSCCV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced poppet relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This normally closed valve opens to tank port 2 when the inlet pressure at port 1 reaches the pre-set level, effectively throttling flow to maintain desired pressure levels. It features a vent port 3 for remote control via other pilot or two-way valves. Notably, this valve is engineered to be accurate with low-pressure rise versus flow, providing smooth and quiet operation while offering moderate speed. The RVCSCCV is immune to cavitation-related issues such as noise and manifold erosion due to its internal modulation. It's compatible with phosphate ester fluids when equipped with EPDM seals but should not be exposed to petroleum-based substances as they can damage the seals. The valve can handle maximum pressure at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits. Additionally, a remote pilot relief on port 3 allows control below the valve's own setting. Designed for reliability, this valve remains effective despite variations in oil temperature and contamination levels. It includes a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and is ideal for load-holding applications. Back pressure on tank port 2 directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. The Sun floating style construction minimizes internal binding risks due to installation torque or machining variations. The RVCSCCV fits into Cavity T-11A Series 1 with a capacity of up to 15 gpm (60 L/min) and operates under pressures up to 5000 psi (350 bar). It features an adjustment range facilitated by an internal hex screw and locknut system, ensuring secure settings and precise control within hydraulic systems.

Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced-poppet relief cartridges are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.
- Because the modulating occurs inside the cartridge, these valves are immune to most of the problems associated with cavitation, namely noise and manifold erosion.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits.
- A remote pilot relief on port 3 (vent) will control the valve below its own setting.
- Valve is relatively insensitive to varying oil temperatures and oil borne contamination.
- Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
- Suitable for use in load holding applications.
- Back pressure on the tank port (port 2) is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
