The Sun Hydraulics RVCSLQN (RVCSLQN) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced poppet relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation in hydraulic systems. This normally closed valve opens to the tank port when the inlet pressure reaches the set value, effectively throttling flow to maintain desired pressure levels. It features a vent port that allows remote control by other pilot or two-way valves, enhancing its versatility and application scope. Known for its accuracy, low pressure rise versus flow, and smooth operation, this valve is also relatively fast in response time. The RVCSLQN is engineered to address common cavitation issues such as noise and manifold erosion due to its internal modulation process. It supports maximum pressure at port 2 and is suitable for cross-port relief circuits. The valve's design includes EPDM seals compatible with phosphate ester fluids but cautions against exposure to petroleum-based products which can cause damage. Insensitive to varying oil temperatures and contamination, it incorporates a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. Ideal for load-holding applications, this cartridge valve has a backpressure on tank port 2 that adds directly to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. The Sun floating style construction minimizes internal part binding risks due to installation torque or machining variations. With a capacity of 15 gpm (60 L/min) and maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), it offers reliable performance with minimal leakage at reseat conditions. This model includes adjustable settings with specified torque requirements for installation and adjustment components, ensuring secure integration into hydraulic systems.

Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced-poppet relief cartridges are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.
- Because the modulating occurs inside the cartridge, these valves are immune to most of the problems associated with cavitation, namely noise and manifold erosion.
- Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
- Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits.
- A remote pilot relief on port 3 (vent) will control the valve below its own setting.
- Valve is relatively insensitive to varying oil temperatures and oil borne contamination.
- Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
- Suitable for use in load holding applications.
- Back pressure on the tank port (port 2) is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
- Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
