The Sun Hydraulics RVEAOEN (RVEAOEN) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed for precise pressure regulation. This normally closed valve opens to the tank port when the inlet pressure reaches the valve setting, allowing it to throttle flow and maintain desired pressure levels. It features a vent port that enables remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves, offering flexibility in various applications. The valve is characterized by its accuracy, low pressure rise versus flow, smooth operation, and moderate speed. The RVEAOEN can accept maximum pressure at port 2 and is suitable for cross-port relief circuits; however, spool leakage should be considered in such configurations. The main stage orifice is safeguarded by a 150-micron stainless steel screen, ensuring durability and reliability. This cartridge is not recommended for load-holding applications due to potential spool leakage. Backpressure on the tank port directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. For systems using phosphate ester fluids, cartridges with EPDM seals are available; exposure to petroleum-based fluids can damage these seals. The valve incorporates Sun's floating style construction to minimize internal binding issues potentially caused by excessive installation torque or machining variations. Key specifications include a capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min), a maximum operating pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar), and a typical response time of 10 ms. The valve features an adjustment screw with an internal hex size of 5/32 in (4 mm) and requires specific installation torques for optimal performance. Weighing just .70 lb (0.30 kg), this model offers reliable performance in demanding hydraulic systems requiring precise pressure control.

Ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridges are normally closed pressure regulating valves. When the pressure at the inlet (port 1) reaches the valve setting, the valve starts to open to tank (port 2), throttling flow to regulate the pressure. They provide a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves. These valves are accurate, have low pressure rise vs. flow, they are smooth and quiet, and are moderately fast.

  • A remote pilot relief on port 3 (vent) will control the valve below its own setting.
  • Will accept maximum pressure at port 2; suitable for use in cross port relief circuits. If used in cross port relief circuits, consider spool leakage.
  • Main stage orifice is protected by a 150 micron stainless steel screen.
  • Not suitable for use in load holding applications due to spool leakage.
  • Back pressure on the tank port (port 2) is directly additive to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio.
  • Cartridges configured with EPDM seals are for use in systems with phosphate ester fluids. Exposure to petroleum based fluids, greases and lubricants will damage the seals.
  • Incorporates the Sun floating style construction to minimize the possibility of internal parts binding due to excessive installation torque and/or cavity/cartridge machining variations.
