The Sun Hydraulics RVEAOGV (RVEAOGV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed to function as a normally closed pressure regulating valve. It is engineered to open and throttle flow to the tank port when the pressure at the inlet port reaches the valve setting, effectively regulating pressure. This model includes a vent port for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves, enhancing its versatility. Known for its accuracy and smooth operation, it has a low-pressure rise versus flow characteristic and operates quietly with moderate speed. The RVEAOGV can accept maximum pressure at port 2, making it suitable for cross-port relief circuits; however, spool leakage should be considered in such applications. It features a main stage orifice protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen and is not recommended for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. The cartridge's back pressure on the tank port directly adds to the valve setting at a 1:1 ratio. When configured with EPDM seals, it is compatible with systems using phosphate ester fluids but not with petroleum-based fluids. Its construction incorporates Sun's floating style design to minimize internal part binding due to installation torque or machining variations in cavity/cartridge interfaces. With a capacity of 30 gpm (120 L/min), this cartridge operates under a maximum pressure of 5000 psi (350 bar) and has an adjustment range that allows fine-tuning through clockwise turns.
