The Sun Hydraulics RVETLBV (Material Number: RVETLBV) is a ventable, pilot-operated, anti-shock relief cartridge designed to limit maximum system pressure and control the rate of pressure rise. This advanced valve features a unique design where it opens and ramps closed at a constant speed, independent of settings and flows. It includes a vent port (port 3) between the main piston and pilot stage for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves. The adjust screw allows for setting both maximum relief and minimum threshold pressures. Notably, the cartridge's modulating action makes it resistant to cavitation issues such as noise and manifold erosion. This valve is suitable for cross-port relief circuits, accepting maximum pressure at port 2. However, it is not recommended for load-holding applications. In operation, when the inlet port (port 1) exceeds the threshold setting, the valve opens to tank port (port 2), with the pilot section moving forward steadily to increase setting by compressing the pilot spring until a mechanical stop is reached. These 3 port valves include a vent port (port 3) that connects between the main piston and the pilot stage to provide for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves.
