The Sun Hydraulics RVGAKGN (RVGAKGN) is a ventable, pilot-operated, balanced piston relief cartridge designed as a normally closed pressure regulating valve. This valve opens to the tank port when the inlet pressure reaches the set level, allowing flow throttling for pressure regulation. It features a vent port for remote control by other pilot or 2-way valves, offering accurate performance with low pressure rise versus flow. The valve is smooth, quiet, and moderately fast, with a typical response time of 10 ms. It can accept maximum pressure at port 2 and is suitable for cross-port relief circuits; however, spool leakage should be considered in such applications. The main stage orifice is protected by a 150-micron stainless steel screen. This cartridge is not recommended for load-holding applications due to spool leakage. The RVGAKGN incorporates Sun\u2019s floating style construction to reduce internal part binding from excessive installation torque or machining variations. Installation requires specific torque values: Valve installation torque should be between 150-160 lbf ft (203-217 Nm), while the locknut torque ranges from 80-90 lbf in (9-10 Nm).
